About the Company
An established and successful manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Management Accountant to join its finance team and support the delivery of accurate, timely and commercially useful financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant with strong technical ability, attention to detail and the confidence to work closely with colleagues across the business.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing weekly and periodic management accounts, completing key reconciliations, supporting statutory reporting requirements and providing clear financial analysis to help the business understand performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and periodic management accounts in line with the agreed reporting timetable.
- Complete weekly sales reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Calculate and reconcile salaries, commissions and related payroll information.
- Deliver variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, highlighting key movements and trends.
- Provide clear commentary to the business to support account schedules and financial performance reporting.
- Produce periodic KPIs and management reporting packs for review by senior stakeholders.
- Complete accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and take responsibility for the fixed asset register.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and resolve any differences promptly.
- Support the preparation of VAT and CIS reconciliations and returns.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting policies, standards and internal company procedures.
- Support the preparation of year-end company accounts and consolidated group statutory accounts.
- Prepare audit lead schedules and liaise with auditors as required.
- Provide ad hoc management and statutory reporting support as required.
Candidate Profile
The company is seeking someone who combines strong accounting knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach. You will be comfortable working to deadlines, producing accurate information and communicating clearly with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant status.
- Previous relevant finance experience gained in industry and/or practice.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
