Based in Beverley, in the heart of East Yorkshire my client is a well-established and highly regarded independent firm of chartered accountants with a modern, forward-thinking approach. The firm supports a diverse UK-wide client base, ranging from sole traders and partnerships through to limited companies and larger corporate groups. Continued growth has created the opportunity to appoint an ambitious Audit Senior to join the team and play a key role in delivering high-quality audit, accounts and advisory services.
About the Role
As Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, acting as a key point of contact for clients and supporting the development of junior team members. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across audit, accounts preparation and corporation tax, with a clear pathway towards future managerial progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and complete audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time and in line with professional standards.
- Act as the on-site lead for audit clients, coordinating fieldwork, liaising with client contacts and managing day-to-day audit progress.
- Prepare accounts for corporate clients and support the completion of corporation tax computations and returns.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, providing a responsive and professional service.
- Supervise, support and review the work of junior team members, helping to maintain quality and encourage development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver joined-up audit, accounts and advisory support.
Candidate Profile
You will be an ACA or ACCA finalist, newly qualified accountant or equivalent, with strong audit and accounts experience gained within an accountancy practice environment. This role would suit someone who is confident managing audit assignments, enjoys building client relationships and is looking for a genuine opportunity to progress into a broader leadership role.

- Strong audit and accounts preparation experience within a professional practice environment.
- Experience supervising work, supporting junior colleagues and managing assignment deadlines.
- Sound technical knowledge, strong reporting skills and the confidence to work under your own initiative.
- A client-focused approach with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
