- Part/Qualified CIMA/ACCA or ACA
- Social Care Sector
- Hybrid working pattern
The Company
We are recruiting a Management Accountant to join a growing social care services organisation supporting residential and domiciliary care operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware finance professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio, deliver high-quality reporting and support decision-making across a fast-paced and purpose-led business.
The organisation is continuing to grow and invest across its services, creating a broad and visible role within the finance team. You will work closely with key stakeholders, provide insightful financial information and play an important part in supporting operational and strategic growth.
The Role
This role is suited to a proactive and detail-focused Management Accountant who enjoys taking ownership, building strong working relationships and producing accurate, meaningful financial reporting. You will manage a portfolio of accounts and provide regular financial and operational insight to stakeholders across the organisation.
You will need strong communication skills, a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively to deadlines. Confidence when dealing with external stakeholders and the ability to interpret and explain financial information to non-finance colleagues will be important in this position.
Applicants should have previous experience within a busy finance function and be comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with Sage Intacct or Xero would be advantageous but is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts across a portfolio of entities in line with reporting deadlines.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, payroll and related taxes.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and recharges.
- Produce external reports, including occupancy, payroll, rent and agency information.
- Build effective relationships with third-party stakeholders and resolve queries promptly.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Support non-financial stakeholders in understanding and using financial information.
- Assist with year-end accounts, budgeting, audit queries and ongoing financial controls.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of finance procedures and processes.
- Provide wider support to colleagues across the finance function as needed.
Candidate profile
The successful candidate will be a capable and motivated finance professional with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to work across both finance and operational teams. This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys a broad management accounting role within a growing organisation and is keen to add value in a commercially focused, service-driven environment.
