Based in Beverley, in the heart of East Yorkshire, my client is a well-established, forward-thinking independent professional services firm serving clients across the UK. Continued growth has created an opportunity for a Business Operations Manager to strengthen the systems, processes and resources supporting client delivery.
About the Role
Lead day-to-day operations and ensure the systems, processes and resources supporting client delivery run effectively. Working with senior leaders, the postholder will coordinate workflows, planning, management information, people administration, suppliers, marketing and events while improving efficiency, control and service quality.
Key responsibilities
Business operations, client delivery and workflow
- Coordinate new-client and engagement onboarding, ensuring information, approvals and handovers are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain CRM, workflow and document-management systems, with clear records of workloads, deadlines and actions.
- Monitor work in progress, capacity and service performance, escalating risks or delays.
- Coordinate resource planning with senior leaders to support client commitments.
- Maintain procedures, controls and reporting that promote consistency, accountability and quality.
- Identify bottlenecks, improve processes and support the adoption of new systems.
People, learning and workplace operations
- Maintain attendance, absence and holiday records, escalating sensitive matters appropriately.
- Coordinate training, professional qualifications, study support and progress reviews.
- Manage new-starter administration, system access, equipment and induction.
- Track recurring reviews, renewals, compliance activities and internal deadlines.
- Oversee workplace administration, suppliers, equipment, office services and scheduled health and safety checks.
Marketing, communications and events
- Manage the marketing calendar, including LinkedIn, website updates, articles, case studies and sector content.
- Coordinate newsletters and client communications, maintaining accurate contact preferences.
- Plan client, team and networking events, including venues, suppliers and invitations.
- Ensure external communications are accurate, professional and consistent with the brand.
Operational leadership and stakeholder coordination
- Act as the operational link between leaders, employees, clients, suppliers and external advisers.
- Turn business priorities into clear plans, responsibilities, deadlines and measures.
- Maintain dashboards, calendars and checklists that support visibility and decision-making.
- Resolve operational issues and escalate risks affecting service, people or business continuity.
- Manage key suppliers, service agreements and operational expenditure.
- Support client retention and business development through coordinated follow-up and improved client experience.
Candidate profile
- Experience in operations, office management or senior coordination, ideally within a client-focused professional environment.
- Highly organised, systematic and able to manage competing priorities while improving processes.
- A confident communicator who can work with senior stakeholders, secure decisions and challenge delays constructively.
- Proactive, commercially aware and discreet when handling sensitive information.
- Confident using CRM, workflow, document-management, Microsoft 365 and social media platforms.
- Strong written communication, sound judgement and high professional standards.
